Rates above apply per teaching hour, per student. Extra students in the same session earn an additional rate on top. The app always shows the exact expected pay for a specific request before you apply.
How the "first 8 hours" threshold works
The 8-hour threshold is tracked per student, cumulatively, for as long as you teach that student. It does not reset every month. Once your total verified hours with a particular student pass 8 (in total, ever), every class after that is paid at the higher rate, permanently, for as long as that request continues. If a single class crosses the 8-hour mark partway through, that class is split, with part paid at the lower rate and part at the higher rate.
Your rate is locked when you are matched. The rates shown on a job request are saved to that request when you take it. If the public rate table changes later, your existing requests keep the rates you accepted; new rates apply to new requests only.
Worked example
Tutor teaches a Form 4-5 student, in-person, long-term request: 4 classes a month, 1.5 hours each (6 hours per month).

This example uses the Form 4-5 in-person rate. Swap in your own level’s rate from the table above to estimate your own numbers. The mechanic (a cumulative per-student threshold) is the same for every level.
Bonuses
- A one-time RM200 bonus once you cross 40 cumulative verified teaching hours.
- Monthly bonus for hitting a monthly teaching-hour target: RM100 for 70 to 84 hours, RM200 for 85 to 99 hours, RM400 for 100 or more hours in a month.
Payment timing
- Payouts cover the previous month’s verified sessions.
- They are released in two batches: tutors who clock attendance automatically in the app are paid first, typically within the first half of the month. Tutors using manual attendance confirmation are paid shortly after.
- Classes must be verified by the customer for the sessions to count. Update your attendance within 24 hours of each class to keep verification smooth.
- You’ll receive a payout slip every month summarising your verified sessions, rates, and earnings. You can download it from the app under Payment History.
Extra students and other details
- Rates in the table apply per teaching hour, per student. Extra students in the same session earn an additional per-hour rate on top, shown on the job request in the app.
- A one-time RM100 commitment fee applies after your first confirmed class. It is fully refundable, returned when you resign with one month’s notice and complete offboarding.
