Types of Information Covered by This Privacy Policy

We collect the following types of personal data:

From students and parents: name, phone number, email address, location, and the subject/level of tuition needed, submitted through our contact and lead forms. When you make a payment, you are redirected to our payment gateway partner, Billplz, to enter your payment details directly, we do not collect or store your full card or bank details ourselves, only a payment confirmation reference.

From tutors: name, contact details, and subjects/levels taught. To verify your identity and teaching credentials before onboarding, we also collect a copy of your NRIC/IC and qualification certificates. This is sensitive personal data, handled with additional care, used solely for verification, stored with restricted access, never shared with students or parents, and deletable on request once verification is complete (subject to legal retention requirements).

Automatically collected: usage data (pages visited, browser/device type, approximate location via IP address), marketing attribution cookies (to measure which campaigns and channels bring visitors to our site), and analytics via Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit).

Our services are used by parents on behalf of students, including minors. We collect the minimum information necessary to arrange tutoring services and rely on the consent of the parent or legal guardian submitting the inquiry.

How We Collect Information

Information you give us directly, when you fill in a contact/lead form, register as a tutor, or correspond with us by phone, email, or WhatsApp.

Information collected automatically, technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site (via cookies and UTM tracking parameters).

Information from our service providers, such as payment confirmation status from Billplz.

How We Use Information

We use the personal data we collect to:

Respond to your tutoring inquiry and match you with a suitable tutor; verify tutor identity and qualifications before onboarding; process and confirm payments via Billplz; send you service-related communications (e.g. booking confirmations, tutor assignment updates); send you marketing communications, only if you have opted in; improve our website and services based on usage patterns; and comply with our legal obligations under Malaysian law.

Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

Billplz, to process payments. Billplz only receives what is necessary to complete your transaction and is bound by its own privacy and security obligations as a licensed payment gateway.

Tutors, relevant contact and requirement details are shared with a matched tutor solely to arrange tuition sessions. Tutor identity/certificate documents are never shared with students or parents.

Service providers who help us operate the website (hosting, email delivery, analytics), under obligations to protect your data and use it only for the purpose we specify.

Authorities, where required by Malaysian law or a valid legal request.

Marketing

Our website uses cookies for essential site functionality, marketing attribution (tracking which campaign or channel referred you, including UTM parameters), and analytics (Google Analytics via Google Site Kit).

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and restricted access to systems containing personal data, particularly sensitive tutor identity and certificate documents. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
